Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture is an extremely effective form of treatment that enhances recuperative power and immunity, supports physical and emotional health, and improves overall function and well-being.

Practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine have used this non-invasive treatment method for thousands of years to help millions of people become and stay healthy. Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles through the skin at strategic points. It is used to balance the flow of energy, known as qi, that flows through meridians (or pathways) in the body. The insertion of needles into points along the meridians allows that energy flow to re-balance.

Acupuncture forms a key component of traditional Chinese medicine and is most commonly used to treat pain, although it is also used for overall wellness, relief from stress, and a number of other health-related conditions. With its incorporation into Western natural wellness, the acupuncture points serve to stimulate the underlying muscles, nerves and connective tissue to boost the body’s natural painkillers.

The Benefits of Acupuncture: An Age-Old Non-Invasive Treatment Method

Acupuncture promotes natural healing by breaking down blockages in the body. Acupuncture is a safe and painless way to treat a wide variety of medical problems. Most commonly it is used for:

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Furthermore, the pins are placed into problem areas on the face and neck, such as wrinkles or acne scarring, to promote nutrient-rich blood flow, stimulate muscle activity and toning, and encourage collagen growth, which all contribute to a more youthful and healthy-looking appearance.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) originated in ancient China and has evolved over thousands of years and is used widely and daily by practitioners all over the United States.

TCM practitioners use herbal medicines and various mind and body practices, such as acupuncture, cupping, and more, to treat or prevent health problems.

TCM encompasses many different practices, including acupuncture, moxibustion (burning an herb above the skin to apply heat to acupuncture points), Chinese herbal medicine, tui na (Chinese therapeutic massage), dietary assistance, and tai chi and qi gong (practices that combine specific movements or postures, coordinated breathing, and mental focus). TCM is rooted in the ancient philosophy of Taoism and dates back more than 2,500 years.

Your Acupuncture Session

What to Expect from Your Session?

Your acupuncturist will spend time with you at the beginning of the session to learn more about your health concerns and health history, including medication that you’re currently taking. They will then move on to a series of questions that seek to gain a fuller understanding of your current health, asking questions that may seem unrelated to your most pressing health concerns. This can include your digestion, emotional state, sleeping patterns, and stress levels.

Treatment follows utilizing fine needles to access the qi of the meridians to re-balance the flow of energy in your body.
